Explore Careers and Earn 3 Credits!

Career Development and Exploration, SPS 102 Three options to learn: Traditional Classroom Setting, On-line/Hybrid, and On-line versions.

Learn how to make satisfying career decisions while earning 3 credits! This course explores and examines issues related to the selection of career fields. Emphasis is placed on a realistic self-appraisal of one's interests, needs, skills and personality style, career decision making, researching careers and preparing for a job search.

Career Management, SPS 202

This course is intended for students who have already engaged in the career exploration process. Emphasis is placed on the world of work and survey of career fields, employer research, employment organizational structure, effective networking, targeting resume and cover letter development, interviewing skills, professional etiquette and self marketing strategies. This is a hands on learning experience emphasizing the development of lifelong career management skills and tools.

Classroom Presentations

Faculty may arrange class visits to the center or may request classroom workshops on the following topics: career exploration, career planning and assessment, personality type and career, and values clarification, and researching careers using internet resources. Due to increased demand and limited availability, please make class reservations within the first three weeks of each semester.
