Nassau Community College is proud to announce its new partnership with the Hempstead School District, through a New York Gaining Early Awareness & Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (NCC NYGEAR UP) initiative.  This exciting opportunity will provide support services to all 7^th grade students at the Alverta B. Gray Schultz Middle School, to assist them in graduating from high school, well prepared for college and/or career training.

Your child, along with his classmates, will receive, free of cost, tutoring, academic skills development, counseling, preparation for high school and college, career guidance, as well as, field trips and summer camp! 

NCC NYGEAR UP is founded on the belief that all young people can excel when given effective support, encouragement and opportunity.  The Program will deliver a broad range of services, with a focus on the academic, social and cultural development of students, and will continue providing these services through to their graduation from high school in 2020!

We anticipate a strong and productive partnership that will support our students’ progress and achievement, and are confident that in our working together, only success awaits them.

In addition, we are pleased to share that we will be hosting an NCC NYGEAR UP Parent/Guardian Event, in conjunction with the Hempstead School District, giving us all an opportunity to meet.  Your invitation will be in the mail soon.  Also, information on the NCC NYGEAR UP Summer Program, scheduled for July 2015, will be mailed to you shortly, as well.
