Educational Opportunity Program

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is jointly sponsored by The State University of New York (SUNY) and Nassau Community College.

All accepted first-time EOP students are required to participate in a pre-freshman summer program prior to the beginning of coursework in the fall semester. The summer program provides students with:

• Instructional coursework to strengthen academic competencies in the areas of reading, writing, math and critical thinking.
• An opportunity to acclimate to the campus environment and build relationships with the EOP staff.
• The opportunity to meet faculty who teach at the college.
• Enrichment activities and opportunities for social engagement

Mission Statement

The mission of the Educational Opportunity Program is to provide academic support and supplemental financial assistance to students who have the potential to succeed despite inadequate high school preparation and limited financial resources.
