SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) Benefits

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) issues electronic benefits that can be used like cash to purchase food. SNAP helps low-income working people, senior citizens, the disabled and others feed their families. You may be eligible for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Mobile Food Pantry

Long Island Cares has partnered with NCC to bring the Mobile Food Pantry to the campus. The Mobile Food Pantry visits the campus once a month and provides those in need with healthy nutritious groceries.  Open to all students. In addition, the physical education complex is accessible to individuals during times when classes are not being held.  Please find the schedule below.

PE Open Rec Schedule - Nassau Community College Athletics
General rules and regulations governing the use of the physical education complex. No food, drink, or smoking permitted in the facility. A valid Nassau Community College photo identification card is required for use of the facilities and loan of equipment. Gym attire (no street clothes) must be worn when using the activity areas.

Nassau Community College students commuting to campus can take advantage of a program offering free Metrocards for travel on the Nassau Inter-County Express (NICE) bus. To obtain your free Metrocard, visit the Dean of Students Office – College Center Building (CCB) room 312.

The EAP has a professionally trained staff of Licensed Social Workers. EAP provides free, confidential, short-term counseling for College employees and their family members seeking help for many reasons, including but not limited to: gambling, marital problems, depression, stress, panic attacks, domestic violence, job stress, alcohol abuse, grief and loss, family problems, drug abuse, anxiety, relationship concerns, anger issues, financial stress, LGBTQ concerns, and parenting concerns.

Nassau County Mobile Crisis Team comes to YOU!

The Mobile Crisis team consists of licensed professional social workers and nurses who are specially trained to help individuals, and their families, with mental health problems.

If you or a family member is experiencing a mental health crisis call the Team.  Social workers and nurses travel to homes, schools, work-sites and other locations in Nassau County.

NY Project Hope helps New Yorkers understand their reactions and emotions during COVID-19. Through an emotional support helpline, educational materials, and trusted referrals, NY Project Hope helps people manage and cope with changes brought on by COVID-19.

NY Project Hope Crisis Counselors understand what you are going through. Talking to them is free, confidential, and anonymous. Talk to someone who is trained, knowledgeable and never judges. Sometimes it helps to talk with someone you do not know.

The Safe Center LI
