The Substance Awareness Committee Presents Chris Beckman, Star of "Real World: Chicago" and Recovering Addict, March 11

Garden City, NY  The Substance Awareness Committee at Nassau Community College is proud to present Chris Beckman, star of Real World: Chicago and recovering addict, as the featured speaker of the College's Substance Awareness Day activities. Beckman will speak about his experiences at 1:00 p.m. in the College Center Building.

Beckman is a former member of MTV's Real World: Chicago cast. He had also been a drug abuser and an alcoholic since he was 11 years old. He is now clean and sober and a successful artist and model living in New York City. Beckman is also author of Clean: A New Generation of Recovery Speaks Out, in which he shares his spiral into addiction, the “gift of desperation” that prompted his recovery and inspiring stories from other young recovering addicts.
