"Hello! I am Gabriel Bauer and I am very excited to take on my role as Academic Senate Chair. I am a second-year student currently majoring in Liberal Arts. SUNY Nassau is a College that I am proud to be a part of. I came to SUNY Nassau because I believed it would be the smart choice for me. Many students are going to be thousands of dollars in debt after college. SUNY Nassau offers a great education without the unforgiving debt. In my new role I hope to help move SUNY Nassau in a positive direction. I have several ideas about how to accomplish this. One is to make students more aware of the many clubs the College offers. Another is to acknowledge and support the large Latino population that attends SUNY Nassau. Some advice I would give to incoming first-year students is to learn how to time manage. College is very different than high school in that you need to be able to hold yourself accountable to succeed and achieve good grades."
