"I served in the United States Navy in San Diego from 2014 to 2021, first on the USS Harpers Ferry and then on the USS Rushmore.  When it was time for me to attend college, I chose NCC because it's veteran friendly and offers many different programs.  In college, I have found that my military training has assisted me with time management for my classes, papers and tests, as well as in guiding me to the overall respect I believe I should give to my professors and those who are helping me on my higher education journey.  And while my entire experience at Nassau has been a positive one, I especially remember a sociology course I took in which my professor had a passion for teaching his subject and made the classroom environment safe for all voices.  In fact, this class played a pivotal role in my changing my major to human services.  NCC offers many services to all students as well.  For example, the Childrens Greenhouse offers affordable childcare on campus. My son is enrolled there and it's been amazing!"

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
