Aurora Workman is the current President of the SUNY Nassau Community College Alumni
Association. She is also the Director of Human Resources at SUNY Westchester Community
College. Workman spent 24 years at SUNY Nassau in a variety of positions, including
Assistant Director in the Office of Equity, Inclusion and Affirmative Action and the
in the Labor Relations Office. She holds a Master's degree in Administration Leadership
and an EdD in Educational Administration Leadership.
Workman is a commissioned lecturer and workshop facilitator for Organizational and Professional Development Leadership and a diversity recruiter. Prior to her employment as SUNY Nassau, she held positions at Newsday and Roosevelt Junior Senior High School. Workman was enstooled as a Queen Mother (Al-lee-yah) by the United Federation of Afrikan/African American Tribal Chiefs for 30 years of commitment to providing a positive legacy for our youth and families. She has received several Community Service Awards and the State University New York (SUNY) Chancellor’s Award.
