Nassau Community College to Host the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System 2018 Fall Regional Conference on November 10

Garden City, NY — Nassau Community College and its radio station 90.3FM WHPC, will, for the first time, host the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System’s Fall Regional Conference, on Saturday, November 10, 2018.  The event will be held in the College’s CCB building (College Center Building).

The 9:00 a.m.to 4:00 p.m. conference is recommended for students wishing to have a career in the media industry, specializing in radio.  NCC and IBS have invited professionals from various New York City and Long Island radio stations to speak to students about their career paths and what it takes to succeed in the industry.

On-air personalities scheduled to appear include Brady from Z100, Lee Harris and Marc Ernay from 1010 WINS, Sky Walker from 95.5 WPLJ, Jon Daniels from K-98.3, and Donna Donna from 102.3 WBAB.

Also scheduled to appear are: Mike Kaplan, the Senior Vice President of Programming at NY’s Alt 92.3; Sean Lynch & Rob Rush, the production team at Connoisseur Media Long Island; John Shea, the General Manager of Cox Media Group’s WBLI and WBAB; Matthew Sambolin, the Operations Manager at Salem Media New York; Nancy Cambino, the Marketing Director at WBLI; and Marilyn Penn-Weinshank, the Director of New Business Development for Long Island Radio Broadcasting, among others.  An FCC expert will also be available.

The event is hosted by NCC’s radio station, 90.3 WHPC.  “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for someone trying to get their foot in the door at a major market radio station,” said Shawn Novatt, the Director of WHPC.  “I wish I had an event like this, right in my backyard, when I was a student!  WHPC and IBS are proud to be able to offer such high-caliber guests to the students at Nassau Community College — and to other high school and college students wishing to attend.”
