Nassau Community College's Fall 2016 Children's Musical

Honk!December 2 - 4 & 9 - 11

Garden City, NY – The Nassau Community College Theatre and Dance Department will present the children's musical Honk! December 2 through 4 and 9 through 11 at the Mainstage Theatre. Honk! is based on Hans Christian Andersen's beloved story The Ugly Duckling. Honk! tells the story of an odd-looking baby duck, Ugly, and his quest to find his mother. Soon after Ugly is born, he is seduced away by a wily Cat who wants to eat Ugly for dinner. Eventually, Ugly manages to escape, but he has no idea how to return home. He embarks on an adventure, fueled by his determination, and encounters several other barnyard characters. Honk! incorporates a message of tolerance and self-discovery where Ugly finds out that being different is not a bad thing to be. Honk!'s music is by George Stiles and its book and lyrics are by Anthony Drewe. Performances of Honk! are December 2 and 9 at 7:00 p.m.; and December 3, 4, 10 and 11 at 2:00 p.m. Tickets for the play are priced as follows: $9.00 per person; $7.00 for seniors 55 and over; $6.00 for children aged 12 and under; and $5.00 on Saturday. College students with valid current ID will be admitted free on Fridays.
