Admissions Days: June 28, 29 & 30, 2011

NEWS RELEASE

Garden City, NY – Those considering college should make plans to come to Nassau Community College for one of our Admissions Days—Tuesday, June 28; Wednesday, June 29; or Thursday, June 30—in the College Center Building. Students can apply for admission to NCC while learning about our many opportunities for advancement. NCC offers affordable tuition, more than 70 degree and certificate programs, Weekend College and online and evening courses. If students didn’t finish their degree, have never attended college, or have just been thinking about acquiring new skills, this is their chance to learn how NCC can help them succeed.

There’s no charge to attend the event and no need to register. Admissions Days run from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., but participants can come when they can and leave when they must.  Those interested in attending a hands-on FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid) workshop, however, led by a Financial Aid counselor, should e-mail fannie.lee@ncc.edu in order to schedule an appointment.

What happens during Admissions Day? During the event, prospective students and other participants will be able to speak one-on-one with staff from the Financial Aid Office, Academic Advisement, Student Health Office and the Placement Testing Center. On the spot admission will be available for students who have an official high school transcript; college transcript, if applicable; a completed immunization form; SAT or ACT scores, if applicable; and a $40 application fee, payable by credit card or check.

Day and evening classes at NCC begin on September 1.  Those with questions about Admissions Day should call 516.572.7210 or email admissions@ncc.edu.
