The Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance Presents "From Up Here"May 6-9 & May 13-16

Garden City, NY - The NCC Theatre and Dance Department is proud to present the comedy drama "From Up Here", written by Liz Flahive. The play will be performed in the Little Theatre May 6 though 9 and 13 through 16.

As "From Up Here" begins, it seems like an average school-day morning in an American suburb. It soon becomes apparent, though, that high school student Kenny Barrett did something that has everyone worried. Kenny is returning to school after being suspended for threatening his schoolmates with violence. Kenny himself just wants to make it through the rest of his senior year unnoticed, which is going to be hard, since he has to publicly apologize to the whole student body. Meanwhile, Kenny's mother is struggling with a rocky start to her second marriage. "From Up Here" is a darkly funny play about a family limping out the door in the morning and coming home - no matter what. It suggests that there is a path back to well being for the families of teenagers who come dangerously close to destruction.

Performances of "From Up Here" will be at 8:00 p.m. each day except Sundays, when they will begin at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $9.00, discounted to $7.00 for seniors aged 55 and over and children under 18. College students with valid Spring 2010 ID will be let in for free when purchasing tickets at the door. For more information, call 516.572.7676 Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
