The Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance Presents "Bells are Ringing" , March 12-14 & 18-21
Garden City, NY - The NCC Theatre and Dance Department is proud to present the musical "Bells are Ringing", which will be performed March 12 through 14 and 18 through 21 at the Mainstage Theatre.
Written by Betty Comden and Adolph Green with music by Jule Styne, this charming musical is set before the time of answering machines and advanced technology. In it, Ella works as an operator at her cousin Sue's telephone answering service, taking messages and getting involved in her customers' lives. She even falls in love with a writer whom she's never met. In the meantime, Sue's boyfriend is running an illegal bookmaking ring out of the Susanswerphone office right under her nose. The story and musical number in Bells are Ringing, which won two Tony awards when it first ran on Broadway, are delightful and uplifting.
Performances of "Bells are Ringing" will be at 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 3:00 p.m. only on Sundays. Tickets are $15.00, discounted to $12.00 for seniors over 55 and $7.00 for children under 18. College students with valid Spring 2010 ID will be let in for free when purchasing tickets at the door.
