The Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance Presents "The Pajama Game" December 7–9 and 13–16

Garden City, NY – The Nassau Community College Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present the popular musical comedy The Pajama Game, book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell and music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. The play will run December 7 through December 9 and December 13 through December 16 at the Mainstage Theatre.

The Pajama Game was based on Seven and a Half Cents, a comic novel about labor relations written by Bissell. Workers at the Sleep-Tite pajama factory are about to strike. Their union is seeking a raise of seven and a half cents an hour. Babe Williams becomes the spokesperson for her fellow workers when management refuses their request. Management is represented by handsome Sid Sorokin, factory superintendent. Although they are in opposite camps, a romance is born between them. After a successful Broadway run in 1954, The Pajama Game was made into a film starring Doris Day in 1957. It was revived as a play in 1973 and 2006.

Tickets for The Pajama Game cost $12.00. Senior tickets (55 and over) are $10.00, as are those for high school and college student with current ID. Children 12 years of age and under may attend a performance for $5.00. Tickets for those currently attending college or high school are free for the Dec. 7, 13 and 14 performances only, provided students have a valid ID. Performance times are as follows: Dec. 7, 13 and 14 - 8:00 p.m.; Dec. 8 and 15 - 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.; Dec. 9 and 16 - 3:00 p.m. For more information about the play, call the NCC Theatre Box Office at 516.572.7676.
