Alumni Association Dinner 2006

Garden City, NY The Nassau Community College Alumni Association, Ltd. invites NCC graduates to be part of its 20th Anniversary Dinner, which will be held at the Westbury Manor on Tuesday, October 17 at 6:30 p.m.

While the dinner celebrates the success of all Nassau graduates, five people will be individually honored. Daniel M. Fisher, Jr. (class of 1973), governmental affairs consultant for NCC and former Town Clerk for the Town of Hempstead, is the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year. Victory Abravaya, JD (class of 1970), Chairperson of Nassau's Department of Theatre and Dance and an advocate for free speech and academic freedom, will be honored for Excellence in Education (Faculty). Anne Emmerson, EdD (class of 1981), NCC Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and an advocate for adults and children with special learning needs, will be honored for Excellence in Education (Administration). Mary Ann Holzkamp (class of 1966), Treasurer of the Nassau Regional OTB and the former mayor of the City of Glen Cove, is being awarded for Excellence in Public Service. Hughie Mills, organizer of the NCC Alumni Association and the first Alumni Coordinator at Nassau, is a special guest.

Participation in this celebration will support the Nassau Community College Alumni Association's Scholarship Program, which benefits incoming and current students. It will also be a wonderful opportunity to meet and greet old classmates and friends as well as members of the NCC faculty and staff. Tickets cost $75 per person.
