Nassau Community College Hosts Guest Speaker Dr. Robert A. Scott for Discussion on the Meaning of Being a College Student

Garden City, NY — Nassau Community College (NCC) welcomed distinguished higher education leader Dr. Robert Allyn Scott for a special guest lecture, “What Does It Mean to Be a College Student?” on Thursday, March 26, during Club Hour.

Dr. Scott, President Emeritus of Adelphi University and co-author of “Letters to Students: What It Means To Be a College Student”, shared insights on the purpose and value of higher education. His talk focused on helping students better understand how to navigate the college experience while preparing for success in their careers and personal lives.

“At Nassau Community College, we believe in supporting the whole student experience, connecting their education to their personal and professional goals in a deeper, more meaningful way,” Dr. Maria Conzatti ‘86, Nassau Community College Chief Administrative Officer said. “We are proud to host Dr. Robert Scott and provide our students with the opportunity to engage in thoughtful dialogue about the true value of a college education and the many paths it can open.”


The event took place in the NCC Art Gallery. In addition to the lecture, attendees had the opportunity to participate in a free book raffle.
