Associate in Science (A.S.) Degree in Physical Education

The Associates in Science (A.S) Degree in Physical Education is designed to prepare students to transfer to a four-year Bachelors Degree Program in Physical Education.

The Physical Education program will allow students to dive deeper into the pedagogy of movement and fitness. The course load will provide an appreciation for physical health, develop skill sets in various activity classes, and also use applied learning techniques that will start to prepare students to teach in a physical education setting.

Physical Education Majors are required to complete 7 credits of activity courses designed specifically for Physical Education Majors, those activity courses are listed below:

PED 106 Team Sports (2 cr)
PED 107 Racquet Sports (2 cr)
PED 110 Exercise Leadership: Muscular Cond. (1 cr)
PED 111 Exercise Leadership: Aerobic Cond.  (1 cr)
PED 172 Majors Golf (1 cr)
PED 178 Fundamental Rhythm and Movement (1 cr)
PED 270 Adventure Activities (1 cr)
PED 275 Water Safety Instructor (1 cr)
