NCC Application for Valedictorian

Application Deadline:

All applications are due by March 31 at 11:59pm.

Criteria for Valedictorian:

  • Full-time or part-time graduating student at Nassau Community College.
  • Maximum of five years in attendance at NCC.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.96.
  • No impounds (at the time of interview).
  • No more than one “W” grade (medically excused “W” grades are not limited).
  • No outstanding “I” grade(s).
  • Minimum of 50 credits completed at NCC, which may include freshman advanced standing or AP credits.
  • Evidence of extracurricular and/or community service.
​Indicate if you are employed, full or part-time, and describe the nature of your work in the space provided below.
In detail, describe your involvement in any extracurricular and/or volunteer activities (College, community, religious organizations, athletics, etc.).
In detail, tell us about any other information that will be helpful to the committee in making its decision.

Personal Essay

The Valedictorian should be a person who demonstrates the highest combination of scholarship, character, maturity, accomplishment, and involvement in the college. Tell us what makes you a good candidate for Valedictorian.
