I attended Nassau Community College from Fall 2017 to Fall 2019. I graduated from NCC with my Associate in Liberal Arts degree and then transferred to SUNY New Paltz to major in Political Science. My goal is to go into a life of public service and run for political office. All of my family members attended Nassau. After high school, I wasn’t ready to ‘leave the nest’ so my parents told me about NCC and it was the best decision I ever made.
One of my favorite experiences from my time at the College was when I was elected Student Government President. I was able to represent the student body and work with faculty and school administrators to make sure student concerns were heard. I will never forget that experience.
Markenson Louis was recently chosen as SUNY Nassau's first EOP (Educational Opportunity Program) ambassador, a program begun by SUNY that will mentor other students, create a student support network of EOP students across the SUNY system, advise the Chancellor on strengthening the program, and help inspire more students to seek opportunities through EOP.

I started at NCC as a student in 1987 and loved it from day one! I could not wait to come back, and I got my lucky break in 1998 when I was hired as an adjunct faculty member teaching ASL (American Sign Language) classes in the evening. Our ASL program became so popular and in 2000 I was hired full time.

As a debater, I've gained a deep understanding of arguments and how to analyze them in all aspects of life, academic, domestic, or otherwise. There's nothing like the nights after a day of competition, where, after dinner, we get together to review our ballots (judges' reviews of our performances that day), discuss them, and practice our events in front of each other.

Hello all. My name is Ludovica Sophia Costanzo, and I am the Student Trustee of the Student Government Association at Nassau Community College. I chose to go to college at Nassau Community College because I wanted to go to a college that was close to home and Nassau was an affordable option for me. Despite being online, I have still been able to stay active on campus and connect with people virtually, which has made my experience so enjoyable thus far.

I've been teaching full-time in the Communications Department since 2004. One of my fondest memories was when one of my production students came back years later for our departmental career day and spoke to current students about her TV production career -- and thanked me for my influence and guidance.

This is my second year at NCC (4th semester) and I’m a Dance major. My goals are to perform and choreograph professionally. I’d like to eventually have my own dance studio or company. NCC is an affordable option for someone seeking a higher education and seemed like the best option for me, especially since I wasn’t sure of what to major in at first

I joined NCC in 2006. I instantly felt like I was coming home to a big family, and have genuinely loved my time here ever since. My journey in psychology has taken some twists and turns. From my days at Stony Brook, I pursued a double major in psychology and women’s studies – and continued that path through my PhD at the University of Connecticut.

I came to NCC as a student in the fall of 1990. In November, I had to interrupt my studies because my army unit (766 Belmore Co) became the first Long Island unit to be activated to go to the Gulf War. After graduating, I went to SUNY Binghamton, where I finished a BA in English and Literature; an M.A.T. (Master of Arts in Teaching) in English Education and a Ph.D. in in Comparative Literature.

I was in the United States Marine Corps and I was stationed at Twentynine Palms, California. I decided to join NCC because I've heard many good things about the school and since I haven't been in school for more than four years, I didn't want to rush into going to a university.

Going to Nassau put my head back on my shoulders after I transferred home from Marquette, I thought the work load would be light and the classes would be easy but I was mistaken. It is beacuse of the quality education I received at NCC that I am now in the teaching program in Cortland hoping to help the underprivileged youth in the inner cities of New York.

I am truly thankful for the NCC Nursing Program. As a New Grad they told us the first year of nursing would be hard, but nursing in a pandemic is something else. Working in an acute care setting and having an abbreviated orientation to my hospital, unit, and operating system has truly been a completely stressful and difficult situation.
