I wanted to complete my general studies and get an Associate's degree in Liberal Arts so I decided to attend SUNY Nassau. It was also the peak of the pandemic when I graduated from high school so I wanted to stay home close to my family. Nassau Community College fit the bill. My experience has been both exceptional and fun, due to the professors I had the privilege of learning from and the women's basketball team I had the opportunity to play on.

My favorite memories about SUNY Nassau were made on the women's basketball team. I appreciate the coaches and teammates I worked with. My favorite basketball memory would definitely be our season opener and first win against Manhattan Community College. My experience as captain of the team has helped me with my studies by making me more responsible and determined to do well. It has also helped me in life as I built my leadership skills and became a better communicator. I now realize the importance of leading by example.

I completed my first half of Marine Corps Officer Candidate School and plan to complete the rest of my training next summer. After completing my bachelor's degree I hope to pursue a career in the military as an officer.

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.

"I served in the United States Navy in San Diego from 2014 to 2021, first on the USS Harpers Ferry and then on the USS Rushmore. When it was time for me to attend college, I chose NCC because it's veteran friendly and offers many different programs.
