
December 16, 2025, Garden City, NY – During a recent meeting of its Board of Trustees, Nassau Community College formally hired Dr. William E. Martinov, Jr., EdD, as Vice President, Institutional Advancement.
Most recently, Dr. Martinov provided consulting services in college athletics and revenue generation to the NewEra and Winning Goal firms. Prior to that, he served as the Chief of University Alumni Engagement and Athletics Advancement at Long Island University (LIU). Among Dr. Martinov’s other positions were Director of Athletics at LIU, Chief of Student Affairs at Mercy College, and Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations at Stony Brook University. Dr. Martinov also served 11 seasons as the top Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the University of Notre Dame.
Dr. Martinov earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from DePauw University as well as two Master’s Degrees – Health and Physical Education from Austin Peay State and Administration from the University of Notre Dame. He earned a Doctorate in Educational Administration from St. John’s University, specializing in leadership.
Included in the certificates earned by Dr. Martinov are Law & Policy from NAPSA, Management Development from Harvard University, Principle & Techniques of Fundraising from the Center for Philanthropy at Indiana University and Leadership & Development from the world-renowned Center for Creative Leadership.
