September 11, 2025, Garden City, NY – During its most recent meeting of the Board of Trustees on September 9, 2025, Nassau Community College formally hired Alexandra Cruz, Ed.D., MBA as its Vice President of Finance and Administration.
“Alexandra will be an incredible asset to Nassau Community College given her wealth of experience in higher education and government finance and administration,” Maria Conzatti, Chief Administrative Office of Nassau Community College, said. “We are excited for her to get started at the College and support many of our key initiatives. Hiring a permanent Vice President of Finance was a key recommendation provided by Middle States during the reaccreditation process, and we look forward for her to make a positive impact in our community.”
Dr. Cruz comes to Nassau with years of experience in higher education finance and administration. Most recently, she has served as Director of Financial Affairs for the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. Prior to that, she was in several roles at New York Institute of Technology, including Director of Administration and Operations and Director of Capital Programs Financial Management. She started her career in the New York City Office of Management and Budget. She has a BA from Queens College, MBA from Baruch College, and her Ed.D. from Long Island University.
