September 10, 2025, Garden City, NY – Nassau Community College is proud to announce that Shikha Joseph, a professor in its library, has been named a SUNY Fellow. Prof. Joseph was named a Civic Discourse and Civic Education and Engagement Fellow for her leadership in fostering thoughtful dialogue and civic responsibility.
Shikha Gupta Joseph is the Emerging Technologies Librarian and a Professor at Nassau Community College's A. Holly Patterson Library. Her duties involve working with both the Research and Instruction and Resource Management Units. Prof. Joseph received her MLS from CUNY Queens College Graduate School of Library and Information Science in 2009 and joined the NCC Library in 2019. Prior to working at NCC, she worked for the New York State Supreme Court, law libraries, and as an attorney.
“This prestigious fellowship will allow Prof. Joseph to contribute meaningfully to SUNY’s initiatives in civic education, public engagement, and curriculum development — efforts that align beautifully with our mission and values at NCC,” said Dr. Gennette Alvarez-Ortiz, Vice President, Academic Affairs at Nassau Community College. “It also highlights the excellence and dedication of our faculty and enriches our academic community.”
