May 19, 2025, Garden City, NY – Five students from Nassau Community College were presented with the notable SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence at a recent Student Awards ceremony.
This year’s SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence are Fabiya Amin of Hicksville, Rajiv Vakani of Williston Park, Alexus Heiserman of Hempstead, Jordon Groom of Glen Cove, and Cheryl Verity of Baldwin.
The SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence was created in 1997 to recognize students who have best demonstrated, and have been recognized for, the integration of academic excellence with accomplishments in the areas of leadership, athletics, community service, creative and performing arts, campus involvement, or career achievement.
Nassau Community College congratulates these students on their achievement.
