Nassau Community College Foundation Hosts Annual Gala

Sold-Out Event to Feature Student Theater Performance & Student Artwork for Auction

November 28, Garden City, NY - Nassau Community College and the Nassau Community College Foundation Board of Directors will host their annual Gala on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 7 p.m. at the Garden City Hotel. The sold-out event will feature a performance by the college’s theater students and an auction of artwork created by students. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Nassau Community College Foundation."Nassau Community College has a proven record of transforming lives, providing students with a caring community and quality education, and leading them on a path to future success.  We are appreciative of the dedicated support of the honorees and of their commitment to supporting students in achieving their academic and career goals,” said Dr. Maria Conzatti, Chief Administrative Officer, Nassau Community College. 

Honorees:

• Nassau Community College Excellence in Education Award: Robert Costello, JD, Ed.D., SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor, Chair, Criminal Justice Department
• Presidential Award of Excellence: Shivana Harriram ’10, YouTube Platform Manager, Netflix
• Excellence in Innovation Award: Derek Peterson, CEO, Soter Technologies, Inc.
• Nassau Community College Spirit of Nassau Award: Demetrius Watkins, Assistant Professor
• Caring for the Community Award: Teachers Federal Credit Union
