Nassau Community College & New York Blood Center
Host Annual Thanksgiving Blood Drive

November 10, 2022 Garden City, NY- Did you know about 1 in 7 people entering a hospital will need blood? Nassau Community College, in partnership with the New York Blood Center, will host its annual Thanksgiving Blood Drive on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the College Center Building. The College invites members of the community to join its efforts and become donors.

For over five decades, Nassau Community College (NCC) has donated tens of thousands of pints of blood to assist Long Island residents and the New York Blood Center.

"Long Island and the New York metropolitan region continue to experience a shortage in blood supply. Emergency use, and even routine surgeries, require blood to be available. At Nassau Community College we take our responsibility of supporting our communities seriously. The six blood drives we host a year help us do our part to ensure an adequate supply of blood is made available in our region,” said Dr. Arthur Friedman, Coordinator, NCC Blood Drive Task Force.

No appointment is necessary to donate blood. The seamless process is estimated to take an hour and refreshments will be served to participants. All donors will also receive a special gift. Blood donors must be at least 17 years old, in good health, and have photo identification.

For questions or to make an appointment call Dr. Friedman at 516.572.7402 x26028.
