I work as a Respiratory Technician in Manhattan. I deliver and set up home respiratory equipment to patients with all types of illnesses all over the Tri-state area. Normally our primary patients are 9/11 first responders but now, of course, I go to a lot more COVID-19 patients who need oxygen or other medical supplies. This includes oxygen concentrators, tanks, CPAP/sleep apnea devices, carbon dioxide monitoring, home ventilators etc.
I am almost done with the Respiratory Care program at NCC and it has greatly helped with my current work. I can speak with a lot more authority and confidence when patients have questions about their equipment or conditions. That in turn gives patients more confidence that they will get proper treatment and can rely on the people supplying them.
One of my favorite quotes is from Booker T. Washington - “Those who are happiest are those who do the most for others.”

Stateside, I knew that Nassau Community College has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.
