Literature Live! at Nassau Community College Welcomes Poet Richard Jeffrey Newman February 9

Garden City, NY The Literature Live! Reading Series at Nassau Community College presents author Richard Jeffrey Newman on Monday, February 9 at 11:00 a.m. in the Bradley Hall Ballroom. Newman, who is also a professor at NCC, will be reading from A Bird in The Garden of Angels, a book of poems by 13th century Iranian poet Rumi that Newman co-translated.

Newman serves as Literary Arts Director of the Persian Arts Festival and has translated other masterpieces of 13th century Iranian poetry into English. His own poems have been published in a wide range of journals as well as a volume of poetry entitled The Silence of Men.

Literature Live! is the reading series of The Creative Writing Project of Nassau Community College, which invites nationally and internationally acclaimed authors to share their work and experiences.
