The Nassau Community College Firehouse Plaza Art Gallery Presents
"Corporal Edges": Drawings & Paintings by Nadege Monchera-Baer
January 23, 2012 – March 1, 2012
Garden City, NY – The Nassau Community College Firehouse Plaza Art Gallery is proud to present the exhibit "Corporal Edges," featuring the drawings and paintings of artist Nadege Monchera-Baer. The exhibition can be viewed from Monday, January 23, 2012 through, Thursday, March 1, 2012.
Nadege Monchera-Baer was born in Valenciennes, France and currently works from her art studio in Los Angeles. Her experiences working with Italian film director Frederico Fellini, as well as her time in several creative industries in Berlin, Paris, Rome and New York had a profound influence on her growth as an artist. "My current work follows two independent but intertwining threads — one, large abstracts, and the other figurative," said Monchera-Baer. The figurative art ranges from changed portraits to more conceptually tinged psychological studies hinting at internal or conflictive socio-sexual issues such as innocence and deference."
The Nassau Community College Firehouse Plaza Art Gallery is open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The "Corporal Edges" exhibit is free, open to the public and accessible to the disabled.
