Listed below are scholarships offered in the Spring Semester 2010. This is not an all-inclusive list. There are specific awards granted in each Academic Department, which are not included here. You may apply for special area awards by obtaining information and the application in the Academic Department. Criteria vary for each of these awards. Review the information and apply on a timely basis.

Scholarship Requirements:

. You have been actively involved in extracurricular activities, athletics or the arts while attending NCC
(a verification letter is required for each activity)

. You are in good academic standing

For Achievement in the Study of Sciences for the Health Professions
Allied Health Sciences is awarded in even numbered years
Biology is awarded in odd numbered years

Scholarship requirements:

. You must be an Allied Health Sciences (even years) or a Biology major (odd years)

. You must have a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher

. You must have a GPA of 3.6 or higher in the science and mathematics courses required by your program

. The application requires a written recommendation from a member of the teaching faculty
who teaches science or mathematics

Scholarship Requirements:

. You are in good academic standing

. You have completed at least two semesters at NCC, preferably graduating but not necessarily

. You intend to go to an out-of-town college, not on Long Island or Manhattan,
where you will be a resident in a dorm or off-campus housing

. You have been an active student leader in a club or organization at NCC

. You have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 for all courses taken at NCC

. You are involved in women’s issues, community service, and/or leadership activities

. You will be continuing your education towards a baccalaureate degree
