Important Registration Information

Nassau Community College is pleased to announce that we are improving our administrative system effective Fall 2008. Banner @ NCC has arrived. Registration for fall 2008 classes will be different. Curently enrolled students have been mailed specific registration information.  READ ALL MATERIALS CAREFULLY.

How will registration be different? Certain populations of students will be able to register through our new online Web-based “self-serve option.” For these students, a prior meeting with an academic advisor is not required, although it is recommended. Other populations must first meet with an academic advisor before they are able to enroll. For example, students in certain academic programs which require careful course selection and students with academic standing restrictions, such as a low Grade Point Average, must meet with an advisor prior to registration. Requiring an advisor meeting for these students will ensure appropriate course selection, an important component of academic success.

For currently enrolled students, advisement and eligibility for registration is determined by adding the number of credits in which you are currently enrolled (including remedial credit equivalents) to the total credits you have already earned. This period of eligibility is referred to as your Credit Priority. You must follow your Credit Priority. We will send you additional information about how to register.

Credit Priority 1 – 36 or more credits,  April 22-25, 2008

Credit Priority 2 – 18 – 35.5 credits,  April 28 - May 2, 2008

Credit Priority 3 – 14 – 17.5 credits, May 5-7, 2008

Credit Priority 4 – Less than 14 credits, May 8-16, 2008

You will receive information indicating whether you MUST meet with an advisor before you register. Your student identification number (SID) will be provided for you to use in the future. The SID will replace the use of your Social Security Number for identification.
