College-wide and departmental scholarships are available and students are encouraged to apply. Information about financial aid, College-wide scholarships and student grants can be obtained from the Financial Aid Office which is located on the third floor of the Tower, the Transfer Office in Nassau Hall, and the Nassau Community College Federation of Teachers in Room 3293 of F Cluster.
Information regarding available departmental scholarships are posted each semester on departmental bulletin boards. Applications are available in Room V 200. (Students in NUR101, the first semester, are not eligible for departmental scholarships.) The following Nursing Department scholarships have been awarded in the past:
The Kate and Isaac Brody Foundation Criteria: Student in second year who has cumulative grade point index of 3.0 or better, demonstrates financial need and has an interest in pediatric or psychiatric nursing (a letter from faculty supporting interest in these clinical areas is required).
Louise Aimee and Monique Rudel Scholarship Criteria: Black student in financial need with a cumulative grade point average of 2.4 or better. Must demonstrate "good character" support by faculty references. Preference will be given to students who live in Roosevelt, Uniondale, Freeport, Hempstead or Westbury areas. Money is to assist students with purchase of books/supplies.
Ruth E. Anderson Scholarship Criteria: Second year student with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and has clinical excellence recommended by two clinical nursing instructors. Financial need is not a determining factor.
Ruth V. Matheney Scholarship Criteria: Award to a nursing student entering second year of program with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or better.
Francis J. Saxton Memorial Scholarship Criteria: Award to student with 3.0 cumulative grade point average or better.

Women's Club of Great Neck Criteria: Award to a nursing student entering second year of program, if financial need, with a 3.0 GPA or better.
Roslyn Visiting Nurse Association/Mary Bannister Memorial Fund Criteria: Annual award to aid nursing student with expenses; student from the Roslyn or surrounding areas; selection to be made by departmental faculty.
Kirsten Wiedman Memorial Scholarship Criteria: NUR 105 student in good academic standing (C+ or better in NUR103 and NUR 104) who demonstrates perseverance in the face of personal challenges and financial need. Special consideration will be given to single parents. A brief essay is required as part of the application.
Wendy Belton Memorial Scholarship Criteria: Minority student, single parent, in good academic standing (GPA of 2.5 or higher).

East Northport – Huntington Lions Club Scholarship
Criteria: Award to be made to a full-time nursing student in Nursing 105, 203 or 204 who has earned a cumulative average of C+ or better. Student must reside in East Northport – Huntington area. In addition, student must provide evidence of community service in the form of a letter from the applicable community organization. Financial need is not a determining factor.
Halyn Johnston Memorial Scholarship Criteria: Award to a graduating nursing student. Applicant must submit a statement explaining how they completed the nursing program while raising a family.

Criteria: Award to a nursing student entering second year of program with GPA of 3.0 or better.
Kathy Mazza Scholarship Criteria: Award to a NUR 105 student with a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Arthur Mottola Memorial Scholarship Criteria: Award to a graduating male nursing student. Applicant must submit a 250 word statement indicating his interest and participation in outdoor activities.
Sandy Mueller Memorial Scholarship
Criteria: Award to a student who is attending Nursing 105 and who is an active member of the Nursing Club. Applicant must demonstrate great improvement in use of the Nursing process; have a grade of C or better in Nursing 101 and demonstrate safe, empathic care to patients, all of which must be evidenced by faculty documentation.
