The English Department at Nassau Community College has designed the W.R.I.T.E. (Writing Response Intensively Taught for Essays) brush-up course for students whose placement results indicate English 001, non-credit, developmental English.
This 15-hour, one week course, culminating in the NCC Writing Placement test, prepares students to take or retake the essay exam. As of the Fall 2009 semester, if you are placed into English 001, the W.R.I.T.E. brush-up course is the only way to retake the placement essay and possibly move up to credit-bearing English 101.
STARTING WITH THE 2009 FALL SEMESTER, THERE WILL BE NO FIRST DAY RE-TESTING IN ENGLISH 001.
The W.R.I.T.E. course is offered through the Office of Lifelong Learning, in conjunction with the English Department. The course fee is $75, which includes the course text and all testing fees. For more information and for application materials, please call 516.572.7472, or stop in at the NCC Office of Lifelong Learning; 355 East Road; Garden City, New York 11530.
