Creative Writing Project & Luna
 

The English department's Creative Writing Project promotes creative writing through classes and through publication in Luna, Nassau's student literary magazine produced by the Creative Writing Club. The Creative Writing Project also brings prominent writers to speak on campus.

  Classes


The English department offers several courses in creative writing.
The prerequisites for all creative writing courses are English 101 and 102 (or 108 and 109). In addition, permission of the instructor is required for the single genre courses (English 316, 317, 318).

English 313: Creative Writing (Fiction, Poetry, and Play Writing)
English 316: Play and Screen Writing
English 317: Fiction Writing
English 318: Poetry Writing

Luna


Luna
is the literary magazine written, edited and published by the Creative Writing Club, a group of Nassau Community College students who share a common interest in expressing themselves through language. The Club meets during club hours (T, Th 11:30-12:45) in Bradley Hall, room 218. Luna appears once a year at the end of the Spring semester. If you are interested in joining the Club or submitting your work to Luna, you can contact Professors Barbara Barnard ( barnarb@ncc.edu )  or Duane Esposito ( esposid@ncc.edu ), Faculty Advisors to the club and the magazine.
