NCC’s athletic facilities are among the finest in the Northeast U.S. and have welcomed national and international events such as the U.S. National Volleyball Championships, the International Games for the Disabled and the Russian-American Wrestling Competition. The 192,000-square-foot George B. Costigan Physical Education Complex offers a four-lane track court, three basketball courts, the 1,800-seat multi-purpose gymnasium, a 19,000-square-foot weight room and facilities for badminton, basketball, boxing, cheerleading, dance, fencing, gymnastics, judo, table tennis, Tae Kwon Do and team handball. The Fieldhouse provides 28,800 square feet of rubber tartan floor space with a 30-foot ceiling and seating for 400. Complementing the eight-lane, four-foot-deep lap pool is a 13-foot-deep diving pool.
Outdoors, the Mitchel Park Athletic Complex contains a track and field stadium with 6,000 permanent seats that can be expanded to 9,000 for watching competitive athletes on the nine-lane, 400-meter synthetic track and the regulation-size, multi-sport turf field suitable for football, soccer and lacrosse. The softball complex offers four regulation-size grass fields, lights, an electronic scoreboard, a training room and a meeting room. In addition to NCC, the facilities are used for local high school championships and international competitions such as the Goodwill Games.
NCC’s equestrian team practices at the nearby Babylon Riding Center and hosts some competitions at Islip’s Parkview Riding Center
