When Logan came to NCC in the fall of 2011, she was ready for new experiences. “Nassau Community College gave me the opportunity to explore all aspects of college life,” she said. A liberal arts major, she has taken a wide variety of courses at the College, and has been part of NCC’s honors program. She is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the national honor society for two-year colleges. Logan is graduating with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. “I give so much credit to my professors. They have been an inspiration to me,” she said.
Logan’s success has not been limited to the classroom. As the Student Government Association president, she represented about 23,000 of her fellow students at various campus-wide meetings and events. After Superstorm Sandy, Logan recorded a video for the College website and contributed to student assistance efforts.
Through all of her efforts, Logan has been excited to meet and make friends with people from diverse backgrounds. “From the students, to the faculty, to the staff and administrators, I have been so glad to come into contact with people from so many walks of life,” she remarked.
Logan, 19, is a resident of Long Beach. She is one of five children.
