A Brief History of WHPC
WHPC has been the Voice of Nassau Community College since 1972. Sewanaka High School was originally assigned 90.3 FM as WSHS in the 1940's. When the frequency was sold, Adelphi and Nassau each made separate deals with Sewanaka. Instead of a long court battle, which was threatened, NCC and Adelphi agreed to split the frequency. In 1995, Adelphi sold their portion of the frequency to Nassau Community College. WHPC has been broadcasting 24 hours a day since the acquisition of Adelphi's portion of the frequency.

Thanks for listening!
