Nassau Community College Makes Dreams Come True for Young Women with the “Prom Boutique” Dress & Accessories Donation April 15Garden City, NY – This spring, Nassau Community College will host the “Prom Boutique,” a program in which individuals and businesses donate new or gently used prom and bridesmaid dresses for distribution to deserving young women. The Long Island Volunteer Center, C.W. Post and The Junior League of Long Island co-sponsor the Prom Boutique.Students from the NCC Marketing & Fashion programs will be on hand with members of the Long Island Volunteer Center at nine different sites in Nassau and Suffolk counties on Sunday, April 15 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. to collect dresses and accessories such as shoes, evening bags and costume jewelry. The nine sites are:
All new or gently used dresses and accessories collected will be distributed to invited guests only at an event called the “Prom Boutique” which will be held at Nassau Community College in late April and at the Hagedorn Family Resource Center in May. Individuals recommended by high school guidance counselors, at-risk youth programs, group homes and church outreach programs are invited to the Prom Boutique. Nearly 1,000 young women from different schools and organizations across Long Island have benefited from this program.All donations are tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
