NCC Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present the award-winning comedic play Benefactors

Garden City, NY The NCC Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present the award-winning comedic play Benefactors from Thursday, October 5 through Sunday, October 8 and Wednesday, October 11 through Sunday, October 15 at the Little Theatre.

Written by renowned British playwright Michael Frayn, Benefactors unfolds within the idealized order of modern liberal society. The setting is a late-1960s London community of happy families, good neighbors and utopian political credos. David, the protagonist, is a well-meaning architect who dreams of "building the new world we're all going to be living in." Benefactors tells of how David designs a redevelopment project for a South London slum neighborhood only to discover that practicalities breed compromise and that the beneficiaries of his scheme don't even want the "New York-style skyscrapers" he envisions for them. The play also concerns David's marriage to Jane and the couple's relationship to their neighbors and presumed best friends Colin and Shelia.

Performances of Benefactors are at 8:00 p.m. daily, except for 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets cost $9.00 ($7.00 for seniors and free for college students with ID). For more information, or to order tickets, please call the Theatre Box Office at 516.572.7676.
