DeRosa enters her first season at Nassau Community College and her first year as an NJCAA women's soccer head coach. Coach DeRosa began her coaching career at the youth level in 2003 while working summer camps on Long Island for the Lady Rough Riders. Since 2003, she has continued to work with boys and girls in many clubs on Long Island including Commack, Elwood, HBC, Easthampton, Oyster Bay, Kings Park, Bayport, East Islip, East Meadow and Massapequa.
DeRosa graduated from Connetquot High School in 2002 where she was a five year varsity starter from (1998-2002) and All County selection. At the club level, DeRosa’s team was NY State Champions for five consecutive years from (1997-2001) and Regional Champions for two consecutive years (2000, 2001). DeRosa played for ENY ODP State team from 1997-2002 and ODP Regional I team in 2001.
DeRosa started her college career at Syracuse University in 2002 where she earned All Big East Rookie team honors. DeRosa posted five career points as a midfielder/defender with one goal and three assists. DeRosa only competed for three seasons while red-shirting her senior season. DeRosa graduated with a BFA in Ceramics (2007).
In 2007 as a graduate student at Hofstra University, where she studied MS in Art Education, DeRosa played her senior season. Converting to a forward at Hofstra DeRosa became an NSCAA Third Team All American, NSCAA First Team All-Northeast Region, Soccer Buzz Magazine All-Northeast Region Team, All-CAA First Team, CAA All Tournament Team, CAA Tournament Champs, CAA Women’s Soccer Player of the Week (once), Soccer Buzz Magazine Elite Team of the Week (once). DeRosa ranked second in points in the CAA in 2007 and was two points shy of setting school record. DeRosa scored 14 goals which was second highest single season total in school history and had five assists, ending with a total of 33 career points at Hofstra. Her total career points combined with Syracuse and Hofstra was 38.
Outside of coaching DeRosa has played in the W-League for the Long Island Lady Rough Riders (2002-2011). From (2002-2004) playing defense and from (2007-2011) playing forward and leading the team in points for the last three years.
Keith Detelj joins the NCC coaching staff for his first year. Since 2008, Detelj has been coaching throughout the youth programs on Long Island including HBC, Sound Beach, Rocky Point, Oyster Bay, Kings Park, East Islip, and Long Island Rough Riders. He has also worked for the Beasley National Soccer School in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Prior to NCC, Detelj graduated from Connetqout High School in 2003 where he was a four year varsity starter earning All County, All Division, All State and Second Team All Region honors. Detelj is second all time in Suffolk County for scoring (38) goals in a single season and 15th all time in career goals with (53). Detelj also played three years varsity in basketball and lacrosse.
Detelj then went on to play four years Division I soccer and lacrosse for Marist College. Career stats: Leading Division I scorer at Marist with 89 points (3rd overall)...Is the leading Division I goal scorer with 36 goals (2nd overall)...In Division I assists, he stands third all time with 17 (6th overall) for Marist.
After a successful career at Marist College Detelj went on to play in the PDL from 2009-2011 with the Fort Wayne Fever, Westchester Flames, and presently the Long Island Roughriders.
Jessica Marra is in her fifth year as the assistant women’s soccer coach at Nassau Community College. In addition to assisting the women’s soccer team, Marra is in her fifth year as a full time faculty member in the Health and Physical Education Department and has been the head women’s lacrosse coach for the past four years.
Marra graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelors degree in Physical Education and Health (2006) and a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology (2007). At Adelphi Marra played on both the Division II women’s soccer and lacrosse teams. Jessica was part of the 2004 NCAA Division II national runnerup for women’s soccer and was also part of the 2004, 2006 NCAA Division II national championship women's lacrosse teams.
