Poets, playwrights, fiction writers, essayists — our faculty members have published numerous books andhave earned national and international awards. We are a diverse group, committed to teaching and providing our students with a creative writing experience comparable to that of a four-year, liberal arts institution.
The English Department offers four creative writing courses:
- ENG 313: Creative Writing
- ENG 316: Play and Screen Writing
- ENG 317: Fiction Writing
- ENG 318: Poetry Writing
In addition to the courses listed above, NCC’s Creative Writing also offers other ways for students and members of the community to become involved with the work we do:
Lit, Live! is the Creative Writing Program’s reading series. The series brings renowned writers to campus to share their work and to meet with students for workshops and master classes.
All readings are free and open to the public.
