Available Facilities

Situated on the NCC campus are state-of-the-art facilities designed for educational, recreational, conference and community service activities. There are expansive outdoor locations, as well as a complete Physical Education Complex and Conference Center.

The College takes great pride in its modern facilities. The campus is adjacent to the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, the Cradle of Aviation Museum and the historic site of Mitchel Field.

Policy

The Nassau Community College Facility Manager’s Office operates under College Trustee-approved Guidelines and Regulations, which incorporate the State University of New York Guidelines concerning campus events/utilization. The College reserves the sole right to determine whether a requested use of the facilities is or is not consistent with the goals of the College. Only after College needs are fulfilled satisfactorily will facility use by non-campus groups be considered. The fee schedule is representative of the rental fee and does not include various reimbursable costs, as needed, for set up, technical support, clean up, management fees, etc. Such costs become applicable consistent with the requirements of the user. In all instances, liability insurance coverage is required, naming the College as an additional insured. In most instances, this coverage is in the amount of two million dollars.

User Definitions:

  1. Eligible off-campus organizations shall include:
  2. Federal, State or local government units, departments and agencies as quoted from the SUNY Guidelines.
  3. Charitable, civic, community, cultural, educational, entertainment, labor, professional and recreational organizations which are not-for-profit
  4. Activities and events which are consistent with the College’s educational mission and meet beneficial requirements of the community.

Available Facilities

College Center Building

The College Center Building is a favorite meeting place for not-for-profit businesses, community agencies and educational organizations. Conveniently located just minutes away from three major Long Island parkways and well known thoroughfares, visitors can easily reach these facilities.

The College Center Building offers functional and adaptable meeting spaces for group functions. It encompasses two levels of meeting space, including the Lower Atrium/Exhibit Area and the Multi-Purpose Room, which can be re-configured in a wide range of options upon request. Upstairs are five individually designed conference areas.

The Center offers complete technological and media support, ideal for your meeting and workshop needs.The College Center Building at Nassau Community College has a wide range of state-of-the-art media equipment that will not only meet your needs, but also enhance your presentation. Available media inventory includes simple overhead projectors to large digital projectors that will interface with computer sources, as well as Power-Point. A dedicated staff is always ready to answer your questions in complete detail while providing professional support.


CCB Lower Atrium -  Multi-Purpose Room

The Multi-Purpose Room is the largest room at the conference center.It measures approximately fifty feet by one hundred feet and can accommodate up to 400 participants in an auditorium style arrangement. From its hardwood floors to its high spacious ceiling, the uses for this room are boundless. Meetings, lectures, film festivals, banquets, award ceremonies, musical engagements, theatrical performances and festivals are just some of the myriad of events that have taken place in this versatile facility.

The room has a large 20' by 40' screen complete with a Dolby Surround Sound System. A complete theatrical lighting grid can be used to turn any event into a special affair and resounding success. The sound system allows placement of microphones in any location within the room. Wireless capabilities are available to meet special needs. Since this room does not have fixed seating, the setups can be varied and numerous. Round banquet tables, long rectangular tables and an adjustable stage to make it adaptable to any setup.

If a large venue is what you need, the Multi-Purpose Room in the College Center Building at Nassau Community College is an ideal location to be considered in your planning.

Adjoining rooms "252 - 253" are conducive as conference and group activity areas. This spacious area is perfect for formal and informal lectures accommodating up to 150 participants. It is supported by a full media compliment, including Power-Point, TV/VCRs, overhead projectors, slide projectors and video projectors, and of course it can also be used for a simple presentation  with  an easel and flip charts. The windows provide a lovely view of the campus, allowing a generous amount of natural light.

When it is time for your slide presentation or any other projection, all it takes is a touch of a button to have a shade or screen descend to mask the light. There also is a large white board situated behind expansive wooden panels that slide away automatically. Since these rooms are adjoining, a movable wall can be placed that completely separates the two areas.

Rooms 251 and 254 are smaller conference rooms suitable for up to 25-30 attendees. They are perfect for discussion groups, breakout sessions and/or a quiet luncheon meeting. All of the media services are available at these locations as well.


Tower Conference Areas

11th FloorThis is a spacious, versatile area that can accommodate numerous conference, committee and presentation requirements. Unique to the Long Island scene, this location provides spectacular views of the South Shore and the New York City skyline.

It is an ideal locale for discussion groups which allos for informal refreshments.12th FloorThree conference rooms are located on the 12th Floor. Adaptable for small to medium size groups, these rooms will serve as an ideal location for breakout meetings.Details concerning the limited use of Tower 11 and 12 can be obtained by contacting the Facility Manager’s Office.


Physical Education Complex

The modern Physical Education Complex houses a traditional Gymnasium, Field House, Dance Studio, Wrestling Room, Racquetball Court, Gymnastics Room and Swimming/Diving Pools. Adaptive in its use, the facility has been used for large-scale gatherings and events.

Use of the Physical Education Complex facilities is restricted to availability, so as not to disrupt the Physical Education and Athletic Programs of the College. In all instances, the use of the facility requires the presence of College staff at additional cost. Insurance requirements apply to any rental use of this facility. Requests for the facility are to be made in written form to the Facility Manager's Office.


Exterior Locations

There are numerous outdoor areas on campus that serve as ideal event locations. Representatives of the Facility Manager's Office can meet with interested users to discuss these areas, opportunities for use and specific requirements.

From the elegant and formal to the casual and relaxed, catering services are available for your event. The wide range includes specialized dietary requirements, as well as a broad scope of menu selections. Please contact the Facility Manager’s Office to discuss the specific requirements for your event.
