Nassau Community College Presents How American Business Can Change the World: One Job at a Time!        Business Strategist Kate Buggeln  March 23

Garden City, NY–The Spring 2011 Cultural Program at Nassau Community College is proud to present business strategist Kate Buggeln, who will discuss How American Business Can Change the World: One Job at a Time! on Wednesday, March 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the College Center Building.

As a Governing Board member of Bpeace, Kate Buggeln helps lead the Business Council for Peace. The Business Council for Peace is a U.N. affiliated organization helping women in regions of conflict and post-conflict build business to sustain their families and strengthen their abilities to foster peace. In the last five years, Buggeln has led 10 missions to Rwanda, Afghanistan and El Salvador, working with entrepreneurs to expand their businesses.

Buggeln also sits on the boards of Dress Barn, Inc., The Vitamin Shoppe and Noble Biomaterials. During her tenure as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Coach Inc., Buggeln was responsible for growth and consumer strategies, and managed direct marketing, Internet and licensed businesses. As a consultant with Coopers & Lybrand, she worked with such companies as Bergdorf Goodman, Barneys New York and L.L. Bean.

Buggeln has been featured in many publications, including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and the London Times. In addition, she has appeared on such media outlets as CNN, CBS and the BBC.
