WHO:   The Firehouse Plaza Art Gallery on the campus of Nassau Community College

WHAT:  Coming By Force/Overcoming By Choice, a multi-media visual celebration of Black History through the eyes of contemporary Black artists, in collaboration with the Nassau County African American Museum of Education and Applied Art

WHEN:  January 25 – March 10, 2010

WHERE:  The Firehouse Plaza Art Gallery is located in the plaza level of the College Center Building (CCB).

WHY:   The artwork included in this exhibit ranges from photography to three-dimensional work with historical references from a contemporary point of view.  The artists in this exhibit are members of the National Alliance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities, founded  on the campus of Morris Brown College in Atlanta.  Additional artwork was featured at the Nassau County African American Museum of Education and Applied Art.
