The Nassau Community College Spring 2009 Cultural Program Presents "Hate Crimes Against Latinos"—Christina Iturralde of Latino Justice PRLDEF, April 27

Garden City, NY  The Nassau Community College Spring 2009 Cultural Program is proud to present "Hate Crimes Against Latinos" with Christina Iturralde, which will take place on Monday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the College Center Building.

Christina Iturralde is the Legal Fellow at Latino Justice PRLDEF (LJ PRLDEF), formerly the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund. LJ PRLDEF, one of the leading Latino civil rights organizations in the country, has been involved in the aftermath of the Lucero murder in Suffolk County. While at LJ PRLDEF, Iturralde has worked on cases of critical importance in the ongoing immigration debate. In her studies at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, Iturralde focused on immigration and international human rights law. She also interned at the Center for Gender and Refugee Studies, Human Rights First's Asylum Project and the Department of Justice, Executive Office of Immigration Review.
