Lifelong Learning at Nassau Community College: Professional and Personal Development Courses Available for Fall 2008

Garden City, New York – Lifelong Learning at Nassau Community College – the department that operates its continuing education program – is offering a myriad of non-credit professional and personal development courses for the fall 2008 semester. Approximately 2,000 class sections are offered in hundreds of different subjects. Each year, over 15,000 people take a lifelong learning course at the College. Popular courses include those in computer software programs, courses related to starting a small business, personal enrichment courses, physical education courses and courses in language skills. Among the newest offerings are an introduction to Wikis, an introduction to blogs, a grant-writing workshop and a publishing workshop.

Through its Center for Workforce Training, Lifelong Learning at NCC is also one of the largest providers of corporate training programs in New York State. More than 600 firm-specific programs have been designed and delivered directly to businesses in the Long Island area.

The fall 2008 Lifelong Learning brochure is available online at www.ncc.edu/lifelonglearning .   An application can also be downloaded. The deadline date for registration for the fall 2008 semester is September 14.
