The Nassau Community College Fall 2008 Cultural Program Presents "A Democratic/Liberal Point of View" Christine Pelosi, October 13Garden City, NY – The Nassau Community College Fall 2008 Cultural Program is proud to present Christine Pelosi in A Democratic/Liberal Point of View on Monday, October 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the College Center Building.

Attorney, author and activist Christine Pelosi — daughter of U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi — chairs the California Democratic Party Platform Committee and serves on the Democratic National Committee (DNC). She founded the DNC’s Veterans and Military Families Council. Pelosi conducts leadership boot camps for candidates, volunteers and nonprofits based on her book Campaign Boot Camp: Basic Training for Future Leaders, which emerged from her years of grassroots activism and service as director of the AFSCME PEOPLE/New House PAC 2006 Congressional Candidates Boot Camp, a series of management and leadership training sessions for over 40 candidates, 12 of whom are now members of Congress.

Pelosi served as Deputy City Attorney and Assistant District Attorney for the City of San Francisco; Housing and Urban Development Special Counsel in the Clinton-Gore Administration; and Chief of Staff to Congressman John F. Tierney.
