Garden City, NY  The Nassau Community College Center for Catholic Studies invites the community to its upcoming lecture, "Valiant Women of Faith and Action: A Study of Catholic Female Leadership in Nineteenth Century America," which will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m. in the College Center Building. The lecture will be presented by Dr. Marynita Anderson, of the NCC Department of History, Political Science and Geography. In addition, Dr. Christopher Poulios of the History, Political Science and Geography Department will serve as discussant. Just prior to the lecture, Prof. Catherine Vanek, faculty advisor for the Center for Catholic Studies and a member of its scholarship committee, will present the 2008 Lillian and Douglas J. Worthington Scholarship for Catholic Studies to graduating student Noah Solomon.

Although there is no cost to attend this lecture, all attendees are required to register with the NCC Office of Lifelong Learning, One Education Drive, Garden City, NY (516.572.7472). The office will mail a parking permit to the home address of the attendee.Those in need of directions should contact the NCC Public Safety Office at 516.572.7100.
