Lindenhurst Resident Vitaliy Burov Winner of the 2007 Nassau Community College Great American Smokeout Poster Contest

Garden City, NY Nassau Community College is pleased to announce that the winner of its 2007 Great American Smokeout Poster Contest was Lindenhurst resident Vitaliy Burov.

Burov, who grew up in the Ukraine and came to the United States when he was 16, is a commercial art major at Nassau. Upon graduation, he hopes to study animation, possibly at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. He then intends to pursue a career in commercial art or animation.The Great American Smokeout is part of the American Cancer Society Great American Health Challenge, a year-round initiative that encourages Americans to adopt healthy lifestyles to reduce their risk of cancer. The NCC Substance Awareness Committee and the Office of Human Resources and Labor Relations has sponsored the Great American Smokeout Poster Contest at Nassau Community College for the past 17 years. Burov's poster was used to promote the Smokeout on campus.About Nassau Community College
