The Nassau Community College Political Science Club Presents: The Long Island Future Exposition (LIFE)April 30 & May 1

Garden City, NY The Nassau Community College Political Science Club will host The Long Island Future Exposition (LIFE) a two-day symposium discussing visions, plans and proposals for Long Island's future on the evening of Monday, April 30 and during the day on Tuesday, May 1. The symposium, which is free and open to the public, will take place in the College Center Building.Among the topics to be discussed at the LIFE symposium will be affordable housing, economic growth and development, and the development of 'downtowns' in Long Island communities. On Monday, April 30, the program begins at 6:00 p.m. The Long Island Housing Partnership and Astoria Federal Savings will give presentations about affordable housing options. The events on Tuesday, May 1, which run from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., will feature a panel discussion between Eric Alexander of Vision Long Island; Lee Koppelman, past president of the Long Island Regional Planning Board; Bob Wiebolt, president of the Long Island Builders Institute; and Neil Lewis, Executive Director of the Neighborhood Network. There will also be presentations by Rexcorp and Sustainable Long Island. The Nassau County Planning Department has also been invited to the event.
